These Terms of Service are a binding legal agreement between you and Anytime Appliance Repair LLC governing your use of the Appliance Repair Academy, the Appliance Repair AI app, and our mobile applications.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding legal agreement between you ("you," "your," or "User") and Anytime Appliance Repair LLC ("we," "us," "our," "Company"). They govern your access to and use of the Appliance Repair Academy at https://appliancerepairacademy.org, the Appliance Repair AI app at https://appliancerepairai.org and its mobile applications, and any related services we provide (collectively, the "Services").
By creating an account, downloading our app, or using our Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
⚠️ IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
- Section 14 contains a binding arbitration agreement and class action waiver that affects your legal rights.
- Section 11 contains important safety disclaimers and limits of liability.
- Section 9 explains our refund policies.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- You are not prohibited from using the Services under applicable law
- You will use the Services in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws
3. Your Account
3.1 Account Creation
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your information up to date.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately at academy@aa-repair.net if you suspect unauthorized access
3.3 One Account Per User
You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts. Sharing accounts may result in suspension or termination.
3.4 Account Termination by You
You may delete your account at any time through the Services. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data after deletion.
3.5 Account Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abuse, harass, or threaten others using the Services
- Attempt to disrupt or compromise the Services
- Fail to pay fees owed
4. Description of Services
4.1 Appliance Repair Academy
The Academy is an online vocational training program covering appliance repair fundamentals, diagnostics, safety, and business operations. Tuition grants access to:
- 12 weeks of curriculum (videos, readings, study materials)
- Weekly quizzes and assignments
- Final exam and certificate of completion (upon meeting passing thresholds)
- AI-supported learning labs
The Academy is a non-accredited educational program. Completion does not constitute a license, certification, or accreditation recognized by any government or trade organization unless explicitly stated.
4.2 Appliance Repair AI App
The App provides AI-powered diagnostic assistance, including:
- Symptom-based troubleshooting
- Photo-based diagnostic analysis
- Multimeter and wiring reference tools
- Error code lookups
- AI chat for repair questions
- Community discussion features
- Job tracking tools
The App is a decision-support tool, not a replacement for licensed appliance technicians.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
5.1 Subscription Plans
The App offers paid subscription plans, currently including:
- Day Pass: $9.99 (24-hour access)
- Pro Monthly: $49.99/month (auto-renewing)
- Pro Annual: $299/year (auto-renewing)
The Academy offers:
- Academy Tuition: $949 (one-time purchase, one year of access)
- Free student access codes (where issued) granting limited or full access
Prices may change with 30 days notice. Existing subscriptions continue at the original price until renewal.
5.2 Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal. By subscribing, you authorize us (or Apple/Google for mobile in-app purchases) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
5.3 Cancellation
You may cancel auto-renewal at any time:
- Web/Stripe subscriptions: Settings → Subscription → Cancel
- Apple in-app purchases: Settings app on your iPhone/iPad → Apple ID → Subscriptions
- Google Play in-app purchases: Google Play Store → Subscriptions
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until that date.
5.4 Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Stripe (web), Apple (iOS in-app), or Google (Android in-app). We do not store full payment card numbers. All payment processing is subject to the relevant processor's terms of service.
5.5 Taxes
Prices are listed exclusive of taxes. You are responsible for any applicable sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar taxes. Where required by law, we collect and remit applicable taxes.
6. Refund Policy
6.1 Academy Tuition Refunds
- Within 7 days of purchase AND no course content accessed: Full refund available upon request
- After 7 days OR after accessing any course content (defined as viewing any Week 1+ video, reading material, or attempting any quiz): No refund
- Refund requests must be sent to academy@aa-repair.net
6.2 App Subscription Refunds
- No refunds for subscription fees once charged. You may cancel at any time to stop future charges.
- Day Pass purchases are non-refundable once the 24-hour access period begins.
- For mobile in-app purchases, refund requests are handled by Apple or Google per their respective policies. We do not have the ability to issue refunds for mobile in-app purchases.
6.3 Exceptions
We may, at our sole discretion, issue refunds in cases of:
- Duplicate charges
- Technical errors that prevented access
- Other circumstances where required by law
6.4 Refund Request Process
Send refund requests to academy@aa-repair.net with your account email and reason for the request. We respond within 7 business days.
6.5 Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback dispute with your payment provider instead of contacting us first, we may suspend your account pending investigation. We reserve the right to provide your payment provider with documentation of services rendered.
7. License to Use the Services
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for your personal or business purposes (as applicable).
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Services
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code (except where law allows)
- Use the Services to build competing products
- Use automated tools to access the Services without our permission (no scraping, no bots)
- Resell, sublicense, or grant access to others
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
- Use the Services in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our infrastructure
8. User Content
8.1 Your Content
You may upload content to the Services, including diagnostic photos, videos, repair logs, assignment submissions, community posts, and messages ("User Content").
You retain ownership of your User Content.
8.2 License You Grant to Us
By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to:
- Host, store, and display your User Content as needed to provide the Services
- Use anonymized and aggregated User Content for AI training, research, educational content, and improving our Services (as described in our Privacy Policy)
- Display User Content you make publicly visible (such as community posts) to other users
This license survives termination of your account for anonymized derivatives only.
8.3 User Content Restrictions
You agree that your User Content will not:
- Violate any law or third-party rights (including copyright and trademark)
- Be defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory
- Be sexually explicit, violent, or harmful to minors
- Contain spam, malware, or phishing content
- Impersonate others
- Disclose other people's private information without consent
- Promote dangerous, illegal, or unethical repair practices
8.4 Content Removal
We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to review, remove, or restrict access to User Content that we believe violates these Terms or applicable law.
8.5 No Confidentiality
Do not submit confidential or sensitive information you do not want others to potentially see (in community sections) or that we may use as described above.
9. Safety and Repair Disclaimers
9.1 Not Professional Advice
Information provided through the Services — including AI diagnostic suggestions, course materials, community posts, and other content — is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional inspection, advice, or repair by a licensed appliance technician.
9.2 Inherent Risks of Appliance Repair
Appliance repair involves real and serious risks, including:
- Electrocution from working with high-voltage circuits
- Fire and explosion from gas, fuel, or electrical faults
- Burns from heating elements, refrigerant, and hot water
- Carbon monoxide poisoning from gas appliances
- Cuts and crush injuries from sharp edges and moving parts
- Property damage from water leaks, fires, or appliance malfunction
9.3 Your Responsibilities
By using the Services, you agree:
- You will always disconnect appliances from power, gas, and water before working on them
- You will comply with all manufacturer safety instructions and warnings
- You will consult a licensed technician for any repair you are not qualified to perform, particularly those involving gas, refrigerant (which requires EPA Section 608 certification), or sealed electrical systems
- You will comply with all applicable laws, building codes, and regulations in your jurisdiction
- You assume all risk of property damage, personal injury, or death arising from any repair you attempt based on information from the Services
9.4 No Warranties on Diagnostic Accuracy
AI diagnostic suggestions may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. We do not warrant that our AI tools will correctly identify the cause of any malfunction. Always verify with a qualified professional before performing safety-critical repairs.
9.5 No Endorsement of Specific Parts or Vendors
Mentions of brands, parts, suppliers, or vendors in the Services are for educational reference only and do not constitute endorsement, recommendation, or warranty.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Our IP
All Services content — including text, graphics, logos, images, videos, software, AI models, course curriculum, and design — is owned by or licensed to Anytime Appliance Repair LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
"Anytime Appliance Repair," "Appliance Repair Academy," and "Appliance Repair AI" are trademarks of Anytime Appliance Repair LLC.
10.2 Limited License to You
We grant you a personal, limited license to access and use the Services as described in Section 7. No other rights are granted.
10.3 Feedback
If you provide us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Services ("Feedback"), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the Feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.
10.4 Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to academy@aa-repair.net with:
- Identification of the copyrighted work
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location
- Your contact information
- A statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
- Your physical or electronic signature
We respond to valid DMCA notices in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
11.1 Services Provided "AS IS"
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.
11.2 No Warranty on AI Output
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, OR CURRENT. YOU USE AI-GENERATED CONTENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
11.3 Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANYTIME APPLIANCE REPAIR LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Lost profits, lost data, business interruption
- Personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death arising from any repair attempted using information from the Services
- Any claim arising out of or related to the Services, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY for all claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the greater of:
- $100 USD, or
- The total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11.4 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Anytime Appliance Repair LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Services
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your User Content
- Your violation of any third party's rights
- Your repair activities or any harm resulting from them
12. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may include links to third-party websites, services, or content. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content or practices. Your interactions with third parties are governed by their own terms and policies.
13. Modifications to the Services and Terms
13.1 Changes to the Services
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
13.2 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will:
- Email you at the address associated with your account
- Display an in-app banner notification
- Provide 30 days advance notice before the changes take effect
Non-material changes (clarifications, typo corrections) take effect on posting.
Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT.
14.1 Informal Resolution First
Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at academy@aa-repair.net and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
14.2 Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
Arbitration will be conducted:
- In the English language
- In Marion County, Florida (or by video conference at your option)
- By a single arbitrator
- With the costs allocated per AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules (we cover most fees for consumer claims under $75,000)
14.3 Class Action Waiver
YOU AGREE THAT DISPUTES MUST BE BROUGHT IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY ONLY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any class, collective, or representative proceeding.
14.4 Exceptions to Arbitration
The following disputes are not subject to arbitration:
- Claims that may be brought in small claims court (where you and the matter qualify)
- Claims for injunctive relief related to intellectual property, confidentiality, or security
- Claims that cannot lawfully be subject to arbitration
14.5 Backup — Courts in Marion County, Florida
If the arbitration agreement is found unenforceable, you and we agree that all disputes shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Marion County, Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
14.6 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
14.7 Opt-Out of Arbitration
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement by sending written notice to academy@aa-repair.net within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Your notice must include your name, account email, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
14.8 Time Limit
Any claim must be brought within one (1) year after the cause of action arises, or it is permanently barred.
15. International Users
The Services are provided from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the US, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
For EU/UK/Canadian users: nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections you have under your local law.
16. Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated:
- By you: by deleting your account
- By us: by suspending or terminating your account, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or for other lawful reasons
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Services ends immediately
- We may delete your account and data as described in our Privacy Policy
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including: User Content license for anonymized derivatives (8.2), IP (10), Disclaimers and Liability (11), Indemnification (11.4), Dispute Resolution (14), and these survival terms
17. General Provisions
17.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
17.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
17.3 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
17.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with reasonable notice.
17.5 Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations due to causes beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, war, pandemics, governmental action, third-party service outages, etc.).
17.6 No Agency
No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created by these Terms.
17.7 Notices
We may provide notices to you via email, in-app notification, or by posting on the Services. You may provide notices to us at academy@aa-repair.net.
17.8 Headings
Section headings are for convenience only and have no legal effect.
